The district of San Blas-Canillejas occupies the eastern side of the city of Madrid and is adjacent to the municipality of Coslada. More than 150,000 people live there and it is made up of the neighborhoods of Simancas, Hellín, Amposta, Arcos, Rosas, Rejas, Canillejas and Salvador. Part of this district is made up of what were previously independent towns, such as Canillejas, something that is palpable when walking through its streets.

San Blas-Canillejas combines both residential areas, such as Las Rosas, with more industrial areas. In fact, the Simancas neighborhood has become one of the main areas of innovation in Madrid. There is the so-called Silicon Alley, an initiative promoted by an association of technology companies that was created with the intention of generating an innovation neighborhood in the east of the capital.

The promoters have chosen this district because the high-capacity and interconnection telecommunications networks are located there, such as the main network of Telefónica. For this reason, in San Blas-Canillejas, different companies dedicated to the manufacture of technological devices have been settling, as well as providers of digital services or marketers of ICT solutions.
