Parroquia de Santa María Magdalena

Although the year of construction of the building is unknown, we know that it was remodeled in the 18th century and later restored in 1940 by the architect Aurelio Gómez Millán due to the damage it suffered in a fire.

Inside, the church is divided into three naves and in the center there is a dome that lets in natural light. In addition, it still preserves the image of the Virgin of Valme (from the 13th century) together with the remains of the last Moorish king of Seville, banner of Ab-Xataf.

This old military tower was intended to observe the ships that were approaching along the Guadalquivir River and also, thanks to its strategic location, it is said that it also served as a lighthouse for many of the ships that navigated the river.

Currently the tower is in a state of ruins but even so, it is still a building of real importance for the municipality and for that same reason it is part of the current coat of arms of Dos Hermanas.
