Monumento al Sagrado Corazón

Located in the El Monumento neighborhood, at the foot of the Guadalquivir river, stands the tower dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Its construction began in 1933. However, its entire enclosure dates from 1948, on the occasion of the VII centenary of the conquest of Seville by Fernando III.

The brick tower with Mudejar and Baroque details has the marble figure of Jesus on top, so the sculpture and the tower add up to a total of 41 meters in height. In general, the enclosure (the porticoed square, the monument and the chapel) occupies a total of 3 hectares and inside there is an underground chapel where the renowned families of the time are buried.

The complex in general is adorned by the gardens that surround it.
