Horno Alto Nº 1

It is considered the most important legacy left by one of the most notable companies in the state for much of the 20th century: Altos Hornos de Vizcaya.

It was inaugurated in 1959 and its structure reaches 80 meters. Because it is considered one of the most notable figures in Sestao, the Basque Government declared it a "Cultural Asset" in 2005 and the municipality's council is currently working on carrying out its rehabilitation.

Culture

The municipality, in addition to having different establishments of interest for day-to-day development, has several green areas for walking or playing sports, such as the Parque de la Iglesia. In addition, it has the School of Music that makes available to citizens a cultural program throughout the year that includes the synopsis, the time and the price of the entry for the work.

Throughout the year Sestao celebrates its patron saint festivities, among which the Festival of San Juan and San Pedro and the Festival of Santiago Apóstol stand out, both held in the summer months.
