Vila Olímpica

The Vila Olímpica was the official residence of the athletes in Barcelona in 1992. The celebration of the Olympic Games in Barcelona served to transform an industrial area, an old shantytown, into one of the most valued neighborhoods in the capital for its Olympic Port or for housing some of the most emblematic buildings and sculptures of the capital, such as the twin towers, the Mapfre Tower and the Hotel Arts, the Peix d'Or, by the architect Frank Gehry or the David & Goliath sculpture, erected in the park of the Cascades.

Museo Can Framis

The old textile factory from the end of the 19th century, owned by the Framis family, is today the Museum of Contemporary Painting of Barcelona, Can Framis. Around 600 works are exhibited in the room, ranging from the 1960s to the present and belonging to local artists. The whole complex, the museum, the old ships and the charming garden form an oasis of peace in the midst of the frenetic pace of the city's financial area.

Culture

The industrial land of Poblenou, the former scene of industrialization in Barcelona, today houses a cluster of knowledge, considered the small Silicon Valley of Barcelona. This project, called 22@, is the result of the joint work of the Barcelona City Council with the social, neighborhood and economic agents of the territory to give rise to a mixed city fabric where environmental quality, neighborhood culture and avant-garde come together.
